Digital Photo Prints

As they said in that Kodak ad nobody seems to make prints anymore. Recently I had the first prints made from my digital photos by a professional photo lab and I was impressed by the results. The cost was very low with each print costing less than 10p each for a 6" x 4½" print on glossy paper. Prints from the average inkjet would cost considerably more with no where near the same quality.

On this page are listed the digital photo labs you can use via the web. It's surprising that some of the sites where not user friendly at all, expecting you to give personal details, become a member or download software before you could even find out the cost per print. These sites have not been included.

Here is an explanation of the table:

6" x 4" price is the cost of one print, normally there's a lower price for increased quantities (often over 100 prints).

Digital Size this indicates whether the lab provides prints in 4:3 format used by many digital cameras. Many don't, this means you either have to change them to 3:2 format, have white borders or the picture is cropped.

Browser is a basic program that will upload your photographs to the site.

Program is a more advanced program that's downloaded onto your computer to upload your photos.

CD/Memory Card if there is a bullet point in this box CDs or memory cards are accepted.

Postage is the minimum charge for postage.
